Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, providing patient-centered care across diverse settings including hospitals and outpatient facilities. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine therapy needs.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving functional abilities related to daily living and work activities.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions such as exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to promote recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety precautions, and adaptive equipment use.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment adhering to infection control standards.

Requirements

  • Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant state or region.
  • Prior hospital experience is preferred, especially in acute care settings.
  • Experience with case management and pediatrics is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations including children and adults.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry best practices.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $80.00-$100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 per week
