The Position:

Logixx Security Inc. is currently hiring for a part time/ on-call Security Guard to join our team at Sarnia.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities are Refinery access control, (ensuring Visitors are accounted for and proper orientation and notification is completed), intake of both incoming and outgoing delivery's ( directing Delivery personnel on procedures and requirements) as well as greeting visitors and members of the public that arrive at the facility.
  • Monitor site locations for any security risk using vehicle and foot patrols. Use of CCTV and building access computer systems.
  • Secondary responsibility would be access control to the internal facility's as well as emergency response, plant rounds and monitoring the facility.
  • Guards are required to have a valid drivers license as well as First Aid and CPR training.
  • You will be responsible for the protection of people, property, facilities, and information.
  • Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity.
  • Perform detailed and diligent patrols.
  • Handling disturbances and emergency situations.
  • Ensure site access is being adhered too as per client standards.
  • Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Monitor site locations for any security risk using vehicle and foot patrols. Use of CCTV and building access computer systems.
  • Observing and write reports and upkeep of database's using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Take incident reports and forward appropriately.
  • Facilitate safety orientations for delivery drivers and visitors.
  • Rectify muster reports and member accountability in the event of an emergency.
  • Initiate first aid treatment while waiting for medic response.
  • Track vehicles entering and exiting site.
  • Conduct evening reports to rectify any variances in the muster.
  • Track and Log, entry times Key use and visitor entry.
  • First responder for Emergency and Medical incidents, Fire, and gas release's on site (Chlorine and SO2).
  • Maintain Security Equipment and office locations.
  • Assist people with problem solving for site access.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Security license.
  • Must have a valid First-Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Must have a valid G Drivers License with a clean abstract.
  • A year of security experience would be an asset.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Working knowledge of the legislation, protocols, and scope of practice.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Reliable transportation
