Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting dentists during procedures, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with both patients and staff.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including orthodontics and pediatric treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using software such as Dentrix and Epic.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when required.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high standards of care and patient satisfaction.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and advancements in dental assisting practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in using dental software, particularly Cleardent, Sidexis and Itero Scanning.
- Strong knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dental assisting techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment while providing compassionate patient care.
