The Opportunity
We're seeking experienced Carpenter Apprentices and Journeyperson Carpenters to join our growing team at DNM Group.
This is a great opportunity for those who take pride in their craft and want to work with a company that values precision, safety, and professionalism. Whether you're a certified journeyperson or an apprentice who's already gained meaningful on-site experience, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality construction, renovation, and finishing work across residential, commercial, and light industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
Construction, Installation & Finishing
- Construct, install, and repair structural and finish components including walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, stairs, cabinetry, trim, and drywall.
- Build and assemble formwork, concrete forms, and scaffolding as required.
- Measure, cut, and fit wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel materials to specifications.
- Install drywall, metal corner beads, suspended ceiling systems, and acoustic panels.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain all equipment in proper working condition.
Blueprint Reading & Layout
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and plans to determine dimensions and specifications.
- Assist or perform layout and measurement activities to ensure precision and code compliance.
Maintenance, Repairs & Renovations
- Inspect, repair, and renovate existing structures and components.
- Diagnose issues and implement effective repair or retrofit solutions.
Teamwork, Mentorship & Collaboration
- Work closely with supervisors, project managers, and other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Journeypersons: mentor apprentices, providing hands-on instruction, safety guidance, and quality assurance oversight.
- Apprentices: learn through on-the-job training and assist journeypersons in all aspects of carpentry.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all DNM and OHSA safety procedures and requirements.
- Wear required PPE and promote a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs.
What You Bring
Apprentice Carpenters:
- Active or eligible registration as a 403A General Carpenter Apprentice (Skilled Trades Ontario)
- Prior field experience in carpentry or construction, familiar with framing, finishing, or drywall installation.
- Sound understanding of basic trade practices, tools and safety procedures.
- Reliable, motivated and eager to continue building skills and independence within the trade.
- Valid Ontario G-Class Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Working at Heights, WHIMIS and First Aid Required.
Journeyperson Carpenter:
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as a 403A General Carpenter
- Minimum 5 years experience in carpentry (including apprenticeship).
- Strong technical ability in framing, finishing, layout and drywall.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and relevant CSA Standards.
- Proven ability to work independently, maintain high standards and support apprentice development.
