Position Summary:
As a key member of the Finance department, and reporting to Sr. Finance Manager, the Senior Analyst, FP&A will be responsible for providing key internal stakeholders with value-added, business performance insights and analysis to assist in their decision-making process for managing the day-to-day and long-term business goals. The Sr. Analyst, FP&A will build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide professional financial assistance in alignment with organizational priorities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the business in financial planning and forecasting though reports that facilitate department performance analysis of business targets.
- Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual budget, and analyzes actual and budget variances on an ongoing basis. Maintain detailed budgeted templates.
- Prepare timely and accurate department performance reporting and review financial operating results to identify key trends, variances, and measure financial results against budget and forecast.
- Reconcile results with Financial Plans to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Communication with internal stakeholders to ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Required Competencies:
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Post-secondary bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business.
- Possess or in pursuit of a Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
- Experience with SAP considered an asset.
- Experience with quantitative software applications including SQL would be an asset.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sense of initiative and accountability, and able to work with minimal supervision.
