Senior Financial Analyst

Location:
North York, ON

Salary:
$45–$53/hr + 4% vacation pay

Schedule:
Hybrid Model — In-office: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday / Remote: Wednesday, Friday

Duration:
1 Year | Full-Time (Mon–Fri, 40 hours/week)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support, analysis, and interpretation of operational performance to various groups for effective decision-making.
  • Perform month-end tasks, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for Operations & Maintenance and Capital financial management.
  • Deliver monthly reporting to Managers, Directors, and Senior Leadership, recommending strategies to achieve financial targets.
  • Develop relationships with operating teams to understand and validate financial data compilation processes.
  • Lead the development of forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial planning for Gas Distribution.
  • Produce ad hoc/off-cycle reports and analyses to support management decisions.
  • Ensure financial reporting and tracking align with the regulatory framework.
  • Support key SOX controls and audit requirements.

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • University Business degree

Nice to Have:

  • Finance-related designation: CMA, CA, CPA, CGA, or MBA
  • 2+ years of post-qualification experience in business performance analytics
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling abilities; strong communication skills
  • High proficiency with Excel; knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Hyperion preferred
  • Business acumen and understanding of regulatory environments
  • Proven team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines; experience implementing process improvements
  • Commitment to Integrity, Safety, and Respect
