The Opportunity

WSP is seeking a Senior Water & Wastewater Engineer to join our Water & Wastewater group in Edmonton or Calgary. You'll act as a senior design resource on local and national water and wastewater treatment projects across municipal and industrial sectors, with opportunities to work on effluent reuse initiatives. 

Your Impact

• Design and deliver innovative water and wastewater infrastructure projects that enhance community well-being and environmental stewardship.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and control narratives for treatment facilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality designs, reports, and cost estimates while navigating approvals.
• Engage with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors to build strong relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Lead design execution for municipal servicing projects, including treatment facilities, civil works, force mains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, and feeder mains.
• Support all phases of construction, from fieldwork to contract administration, gaining hands-on experience and applying best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and technologists, fostering technical excellence and growth within the team. 

The Skills That Set You Apart

• A degree in civil, process, mechanical, or environmental engineering and eligibility for a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in Canada.
• 10–20 years of relevant industry experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in municipal and provincial approval processes, permitting, and Alberta environmental standards.
• Proficiency with design and modelling tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, Revit, MicroStation, WaterCAD, InfoWater, SewerCAD, and process modelling software (BioWin, SUMO).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver innovative solutions under tight deadlines.
• Skilled in MS Office and MS Project for effective documentation and project leadership.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $104,100 – $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,000 – $124,900
