Position Summary:

The Research and Data Analyst, Programs supports the Shelter's mission by conducting program-related research, analyzing service delivery models, and optimizing data systems to inform strategic decisions. This role ensures that programs—including Transition Housing, Second Stage Housing, the 24/7 Help Line, PEACE, and the Community Voucher Program—are effectively tracked, evaluated, and continuously improved. The analyst generates insights that enhance service delivery, support funding applications, and contribute to long-term impact measurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate programs continuously and develop strategies to improve efficiency, effectiveness, accessibility, participant satisfaction, and community partnerships using CRM platforms (e.g., Nucleus).
  • Analyze client journey data from intake to exit to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and refine data collection and service documentation models across all programs.
  • Conduct research on best practices, emerging trends, and evidence-based models in trauma-informed care and shelter services.
  • Collaborate with program leads to define meaningful metrics, outcomes, and data collection strategies.
  • Align CRM system fields and workflows with organizational goals and funder requirements.
  • Support grant writing and reporting through data insights and research.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualization tools to monitor program performance and client outcomes.
  • Prepare internal reports, briefing materials, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate recurring data review meetings and track follow-up actions.
  • Maintain internal documentation and knowledge repositories related to data systems and research findings.

  • Collaborative Impact: Builds strong partnerships across program teams to co-create metrics, share learnings, and strengthen collective impact efforts

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in nonprofit program evaluation, data analysis, or systems design.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed service models and client confidentiality standards.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and data visualization tools.
  • Strong research skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Understanding of funding compliance and reporting requirements in the Canadian nonprofit sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with project tracking tools and collaborative platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Asana, Excel).
  • Experience with program logic models, outcome measurement, and Collective Impact Results Framework is an asset.
  • Experience with Client Record Management platforms and optimization (e.g., Nucleus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Data Analytics, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or social services environment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian privacy laws and ethical data handling practices.
  • Familiarity with program evaluation frameworks and logic models.
  • Experience supporting grant applications or funder audits through data insights.

Additional Requirements:

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: $65,805 per annum
