Role Purpose

The Swamper/Field Labourer is responsible for assisting with the installation of screw piles. This role is integral in the set-up, support, pin-up, locating and positioning of each screw pile.

Job Duties

  • Provide labour support to operators.
  • Applies the required markings to the product (such as pile identification numbers, customer order numbers, heat numbers and pile locations).
  • Assists with basic maintenance tasks, including shoveling tracks and knows the lubrication points on equipment.
  • Demonstrates good housekeeping habits by keeping the site clean and tidy to prevent injuries and property damage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Clean class 5 driver's license
  • Field safety tickets including First Aid, H2S, CSTS, Fall Protection, and Ground Disturbance are an asses
  • Ability to operate a skid steer or loader an asset
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will require candidates to comply with Almita's drug and alcohol program.

Work Environment

  • Construction environment
  • Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures
  • Usually outdoors, including travel to remote locations
  • Physical elements include bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Work schedule may vary; shift work
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
