Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for migrating enterprise Java applications from
Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)
to
Oracle WebLogic Server
. This role involves analyzing existing deployments, updating configuration files, and ensuring compatibility with WebLogic architecture. Key tasks include:

  • Deployment Descriptor Conversion:
    Replace OC4J-specific files (e.g., orion-, orion-ejb-) with WebLogic equivalents.
  • Library & Class Loading Management:
    Configure application libraries and XML parsers to avoid conflicts.
  • External Configuration Handling:
    Use WebLogic deployment plans for loading custom configuration files.
  • Data Source Migration:
    Create and configure JDBC data sources in WebLogic.
  • Tool Utilization:
    Leverage Oracle SmartUpgrade and JDeveloper for automated migration and compatibility checks.
  • Domain Reconfiguration:
    Update WebLogic domains using Reconfiguration Wizard or WLST scripting.
  • Testing & Deployment:
    Validate application functionality post-migration and ensure performance standards.

Must Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of J2EE, OC4J, and WebLogic Server
  • Experience with XML configuration, deployment descriptors, and Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, JAXB)
  • Familiarity with Oracle tools (SmartUpgrade, JDeveloper)
  • Understanding of middleware, JDBC, and enterprise integration
