Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality beverages, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced food service setting, engaging with customers and ensuring their experience is enjoyable. Prior experience as a barista is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position involves working with POS systems such as Square and handling food and cash transactions with accuracy and professionalism.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards
  • Operate POS systems, including Square, for order processing and cash handling
  • Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station, dining area, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
  • Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required
  • Manage cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
  • Ensure adherence to food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver quick and friendly service in a busy environment

Skills

  • Experience working with POS systems, particularly Square preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Knowledge of the food industry, including food safety practices and proper food handling
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and order calculations
  • Previous barista experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the role
  • Ability to serve customers promptly while maintaining attention to detail in beverage preparation
  • Effective communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.85 per hour
