The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Shaft/ Logistics to join our Copper Cliff North Mine team in Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday – 8 hour shifts.
The Supervisor, Shaft/Logistics will oversee the fixed plant, muck circuit, supply movements, storage, drainage systems, and shaft activities at North Mine. Working closely with different departments and peers to be successful in safety, production, and planning/scheduling.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Foster a safe work environment, ensuring zero harm to employees, the business, the environment, and the community.
- Meet or exceed production targets for quality, quantity, and cost-effectiveness while optimizing resource utilization.
- Oversee injury management and return-to-work processes, collaborating with employees and healthcare providers.
- Identify and address special cause issues within your authority, escalating those beyond your scope.
- Manage overtime within targets, distributing it fairly among crew members, as well as managing holidays according to collective bargaining agreements and provincial guidelines.
- Coach and counsel employees on behavioral standards, taking corrective actions, including discipline and grievance management, as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement in team performance by effectively utilizing established processes and procedures.
- Plan, schedule, and execute tasks safely and efficiently, assigning work using CPQQRT format, monitoring progress, and completing reports and work orders.
About You
Education:
- Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is required.
- Common Core: First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core or Common Core for First Line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of related leadership experience is required.
- Shaft experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP andd Microsoft Office Products is required
Skills:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
