Collision Centre Estimator

As a Collision Centre Estimator, you will play a vital role in our Collision Centre team, ensuring that every vehicle receives the highest level of care and attention. Roy Nichols Motors has been providing quality workmanship and customer care since 1922. As part of the Collision Centre, you will be joining a team of skilled technicians and professionals. We will provide you with the tools and knowledge to help you exceed in a career in automotive.

As our Collision Centre Estimator, you will assess damages, provide accurate estimates, and work closely with customers to guide them through the repair process. Your expertise will not only enhance customer satisfaction but also contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our body shop.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate vehicle damage and determine repair needs through thorough inspections.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for repair costs, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Collaborate with technicians to understand repair processes and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs and answer questions.
  • Manage customer relationships by providing exceptional service and upselling additional services when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions in the Mitchell Repair Centre.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, automotive diagnostics, and repair techniques.

Basic qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years experience as a Collision Centre Estimator.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
  • Proven customer service skills with a focus on building relationships.
  • Experience in auto estimating or service writing within a dealership or body shop environment.
  • A valid drivers license is required.

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in auto service management or as a service technician.
  • Familiarity with various automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, alignment, suspension, and diesel engine repair.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience in upselling automotive services and products.
  • Experience using Mitchell and Qapter.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle repair practices and OE guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage a fast paced environment.
  • A proven track record of punctuality and attendance.
