Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding holidays

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 per year, based on experience

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Prepress / Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and setting up digital files for print production, including preflighting and outputting files to specifications. Some design work will be required from time to time. The ideal candidate is self-directed, self-motivated, and has an excellent eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preflight and prepare customer-supplied art files for digital large-format printing
  • Ensure files meet production requirements and specifications
  • Make necessary adjustments to artwork as requested
  • Maintain consistent and organized file management and workflow
  • Conduct quality checks on images, layouts, and general artwork accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal departments to meet tight deadlines
  • Typeset, proofread, and edit files as needed
  • Keep up to date with evolving software, file preparation standards, and print technologies

Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a digital printing or large-format print production environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • A solid background in preparing files for print, including bleeds, color profiles, resolution, and scaling
  • Excellent eye for detail and design accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Proficient with both Mac and PC platforms
  • Knowledgeable in industry terminology related to prepress and print production
  • Strong understanding of graphics, layout, and visual composition

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret and apply feedback with accuracy and precision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and eager to learn
  • Willing to work overtime as needed and assist with additional duties to support the team
  • Able to understand and follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions
  • Performs well under pressure and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
  • Holds a High School Diploma (post-secondary education in a related field is an asset)
