Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: 50,000-60,000 annually

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Tech. is responsible for daily inspection activities in support of production. This role utilizes technical knowledge of material inspections to conduct verifications and testing as required by applicable ISO and IATF certifications, as well as by specific customer requirements.

Education and Experience

Education: Post-secondary education related to Engineering Technology or Quality Control preferred

Experience: 1-3 years of relevant Quality Control/Assurance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and operates measuring and testing equipment
  • Prepares and evaluates laboratory samples according to process standards and laboratory procedure
  • Conducts hardness, or other testing on specified products in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans
  • Prepares furnace charts for customer certifications
  • Reviews and signs off on reports and certifications for outgoing products
  • Performs maintenance and verification of test equipment, and assists with coordinator calibration activities
  • Updates and maintains laboratory procedures and forms in accordance with applicable standards and customer requirements
  • Maintains and improves organization of laboratory environment (5S)
  • Assists with the development of new processes under the QA Manager's direction
  • Performs capability studies as per initial sample runs or PPAP requirements
  • Alerts the QA Manager about nonconforming products, processes, or measuring instruments
  • Other duties as prescribed by Senior Management

Skills

  • Between 1-3 years of relevant experience/education in an Engineering Tech/Quality Assurance/Control related setting
  • Ability to accurately report test results in a timely manner
  • Maintain quality and completeness in testing documentation and certifications
  • Diligent follow-up of documentation, testing and verification requirements
  • Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks amidst frequent interruptions
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work with and meet changing deadlines and priorities
  • Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel required
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings, standards and specifications
  • Familiarity with quality assurance terminology and procedures
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 and IATF 16949 quality management standards
