We're looking for a Lead Full Stack Software Developer to join our Ottawa team and play a key role in building the future of aviation software. This isn't just another development role—you'll act as a Technical Lead, shaping the architecture of enterprise-grade solutions, mentoring fellow engineers, and driving the evolution of our software platforms.

This position is based in our Ottawa, ON office, which is a requirement to ensure collaboration with the broader team.

What You'll Do
*As our Lead Full Stack Developer, you will:*

• Architect & Build: Drive the design, development, integration, and testing of SKYTRAC's client-facing software. Provide technical oversight through peer reviews of code contributions, ensuring maintainability, performance, and adherence to established standards
• Lead by Example: Lead the planning and design of Enterprise software solutions by proposing new concepts, products, and system architectures and evaluate and estimate alternative implementation approaches. Champion best practices in software design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
• Innovate: Propose and evaluate new concepts, architectures, and products that advance SKYTRAC's enterprise solutions.
• Collaborate: Lead the development of software requirements and specifications based on cross-functional stakeholder engagement
• Mentor & Inspire: Guide and support developers, elevating the team's skills and methodologies.
• Evolve Our Craft: Lead initiatives to evolve our software development lifecycle, tools, and practices.

What You Bring
*Must-Haves*

• Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in full stack development, building high-quality, highly available web applications.
• Strong experience with microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing.
• Proven ability in both front-end frameworks and back-end technologies, delivering robust end-to-end solutions.
• Experience in the following technologies:
• Demonstrated use of Front-end frameworks/Back-end technologies and creation of fluid performant robust end-to-end solutions
• Kafka, Redis, message queueing systems such as RabbitMQ, MQTT
• Databases (SQL or NoSQL, Relational, etc.), web storage, file or data transfer, AWS
• Git/GitLab

• Track record of mentoring and leading development teams.
• Experience deprecating legacy systems and migrating, porting, or reimplementing functionality from acquired products into next
• generation systems
• Active contributions to the Open Source community.
• Knowledge of satellite networks (e.g., Iridium) or mobile communication technologies (cellular modems).
• Experience with C#, .NET, PHP
