Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Calgary, AB, with opportunities for remote work. The Research Assistant will support and conduct lab-based experiments, analyze data, and assist in research projects related to nanotechnology, materials science, and photonic systems. Tasks include collecting and interpreting data, preparing reports, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance knowledge and innovation in optical data storage and related fields.

Qualifications

  • Strong Research skills and the ability to conduct experiments and review scientific literature
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis and Analytical Skills to interpret research findings and generate insights
  • Solid Laboratory Skills, including working with precision instruments and adhering to safety protocols
  • Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written, to document processes and present findings effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
  • Familiarity with nanotechnology, materials science, or photonic technologies is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • MSc degree or relevant research experience is an asset
