Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to join our IT support team. This role is essential in providing technical assistance to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of hardware and software systems across various operating environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of computer networks and support tools. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting a wide range of IT infrastructure and user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers running Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Assist users with software troubleshooting, including Microsoft Office applications and other enterprise software.
  • Manage and resolve support tickets using ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, or similar ticketing systems.
  • Support network infrastructure including LAN, VPN, firewall configurations, and operating system connectivity issues.
  • Configure and maintain security features such as firewalls and VPN access to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Assist with service requests related to computer hardware setup, software installation, and operating system updates.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Document solutions and procedures clearly for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles with a focus on desktop support and technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with network concepts such as LAN, VPN, firewall management, and computer networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with support tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for ticket management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software issues related to Microsoft Office suite and other common enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Nice-to-have skills include experience with Operating Systems management, Cisco Firewall configurations, Linux server administration, and familiarity with BMC Remedy or similar ITSM platforms. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about technology support who thrive in fast-paced environments requiring strong problem-solving skills and excellent customer service capabilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.07-$30.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
