Job Description

The responsibilities are as follows:

  • Preparation of Compilation Engagement files and T2 corporate tax returns – intermediate level files and above
  • Understanding of corporate tax balances (CDA, RDTOH, GRIP etc.)
  • Preparation of corporate or personal tax planning scenario calculations
  • Preparation of Canadian personal tax returns – intermediate level files and above
  • Prepare/review a variety of Tslips
  • Fulfills a variety of support roles in accounting and bookkeeping for clients
  • Prepare/review GST and other statutory returns for clients as required
  • Assists with special projects as assigned by partners and managers

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 3-5 years working in a public practice role
  • Perhaps you are a CPA student or newly designated CPA who recently conquered the CFE, or maybe you have equivalent experience in public practice without a designation.
  • Great work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with both clients and colleagues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Additional skills of a preferred candidate:

  • Familiarity with accounting and tax software (SAGE, QuickBooks, TaxPrep, CaseWare)
  • Corporate accounting or financial statement experience
  • Corporate tax experience
  • Personal tax experience
  • Bookkeeping experience
