Role Description
- We are looking for a
Property & Casualty Commercial Specialty Programs Director
to help manage the firm's growth in our wholly-owned insurance entities (managing general agent and / or insurance wholesaler). - This is a six to twelve month contract (extendable or convertible into a full time role)
Key responsibilities:
- Runs day-to-day operations of assigned specialty programs
- Coordinates underwriting, pricing, and loss control activities
- Develops new programs and improves existing insurance programs
- Implements program guidelines and ensures compliance
- Drives broker relationships and distribution strategy
- Drives carrier & reinsurance relationships and capital formation
- Monitors performance metrics and prepares reports
- Drives the business forward
- Support and lead special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree years of relevant professional experience at either (i) an insurance company, reinsurance company, brokerage, actuarial firm or (ii) a specialty financial services firm, law firm, accounting firm or similar with a focus on the insurance industry
- Nice to have, but not required: experience operating in a professional context in both Canada and the United States
