About the Role

Senior In-Store Buyer, Toronto

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and leadership within the in-store buying function.
  • Support, mentor, and train junior buyers, interns, or team members to ensure consistency in product standards, pricing, and authentication practices.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach, ensuring buying operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Support onboarding and knowledge-sharing to strengthen team performance and collaboration.

Build & Maintain Product Excellence:

  • Daily interaction with in-store suppliers, involving tasks such as curating, pricing, and authenticating items.
  • Ensuring quality and alignment with brand values.
  • Partner with the Inventory and Sales teams to ensure RFID accuracy and maintain product accuracy.
  • Expand on pricing strategies that drive profitability and reflect market trends.
  • Become proficient in our inventory systems to support smooth product flow.

Client Service & Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with in-store suppliers to ensure ongoing product flow and collaboration.
  • Act as a trusted partner, providing guidance and insight into product needs and brand standards.
  • Share actionable product and market insights with the team to boost sales, enhance client experiences, and strengthen team knowledge.

Collaborate Across Teams:

  • Work with Visual Merchandising, Digital, and Store Planning teams to align product strategies with brand initiatives.
  • Provide valuable product insights to support leadership in strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with authentication experts to ensure all items meet our rigorous standards, guaranteeing authenticity for every product in our collection.

Strategize & Execute:

  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities to ensure we curate the best possible collection.
  • Build relationships with wholesale partners and suppliers to support long-term growth.
  • Monitor sell-through rates across all channels, identifying high-performing products and ensuring inventory levels align with demand.
  • Use data insights to refine product assortments, ensuring we focus on items that drive revenue while maintaining brand integrity.

Support the Team:

  • Contribute to departmental projects as needed, providing expertise and support to meet team goals.
  • Take a hands-on approach to ensure smooth execution of all buying activities.
  • Mentor junior team members or interns by sharing knowledge and fostering professional growth.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience mentoring, training, or supporting junior team members in a buying or retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of luxury brands, particularly handbags and jewelry.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in product selection, pricing, and inventory management.
  • Strong negotiation skills to build and maintain beneficial supplier relationships.
  • A strong sense of trends and seasonality in the luxury market.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly.
  • A collaborative spirit and a hands-on approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new inventory management tools and processes.
