Rehabilitation Assistant

Temporary Part-time (0.50 FTE) for approximately twelve (12) months

HOURS:

Approximately 37.5 Bi-weekly Hours

SHIFTS:

Days / Evenings / Weekends

7.5 hours per shift (subject to change)

WAGE RANGE:

Scale Minimum Maximum

CUPE27 $30.28/hr $33.46/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Rehabilitation Assistant (RHA) provides assistance to professional staff (members with designations of Occupational Therapy (OT), Physiotherapy (PT), and Speech Language Pathology (SLP)) by supporting treatment in achieving an optimal level of functional independence for patients. Rehabilitation Assistant also works collaboratively with Nursing and Unit team members
• Maintains a daily clinical caseload, as assigned by and under the guidance of the guidance of the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational therapist.
• Adheres to departmental standards and the guidelines of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
• Complete daily clinical documentation and workload measurement, in accordance with departmental standards and Health Record requirements.
• Participate in the clinical instruction of rehabilitation assistant students.
• Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, respect

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certificate or Diploma from a recognized College in formal Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant Training
• Basic Cardiac Life Saver (BCLS)
• Computer skills - email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

PREFERRED:

• Experience in a general hospital setting.
• Experience working in an interdisciplinary team
