You are

A Program Manager, Communication Centre for Children and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. Reporting to the Director, Provincial Services, this position will provide team leadership, operational direction, program planning, financial resource management, and resource coordination for the Communication Centre for Children and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, in accordance with Manitoba Possible vision, mission, and values.

The Communication Centre for Children provides early intervention therapy and language services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children through a family-centered, strength-based approach. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing program includes supporting clients in the community, social work services, and American Sign Language (ASL) training.

This is a .8 EFT role.

Your Role

  • Plan, direct, and manage the service provision of the Communication Centre for Children and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, in consultation with the Director of Provincial Services. Develop and apply departmental goals and objectives to ensure programming activities are aligned with best practices.
  • Provide team leadership and development, and effective human resource management, ensuring all staff have a clear understanding of their role and a shared commitment to the program and Manitoba Possible's mission, vision and values. Participate with other Program Managers and Directors as part of Manitoba Possible's Leadership Team.
  • Provide effective financial resource management through annual budget preparation, ongoing financial monitoring, and implementing decisions to ensure areas perform in accordance with the program budget.
  • Initiate and develop collaborative relationships with service partners, funders, and key stakeholders having an interest in or contributing to the delivery of services for children and adults who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Attend and present at meetings with partners, stakeholders, and funders, and the community on a regular basis. Represent Manitoba Possible in the community at various events.
  • Complete reports with stats as required.
  • Lead by example; consistently communicate in a respectful, responsive, and responsible manner.
  • Demonstrate through behavior Manitoba Possible's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.

What You Know

  • A Bachelor's Degree in or a related field, along with 3 – 5 years of supervisory and program management experience, is required. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and diversity.
  • Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Experience working within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
  • Well-established relationships within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, reflecting a deep understanding of the community's needs, values, and communication preferences.
  • Knowledge of early intervention therapies and education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children.
  • Knowledge of community resources that support the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
  • Experience working in a social services non-profit or health services organization.
  • Experience working in a family-centered social service setting.
  • Experience working with regulated health professionals.
  • Experience in preparing annual budgets including analysis and financial monitoring.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines through prioritizing and organizing work.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
  • Valid Manitoba Driver's license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
