Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child & Family Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic services to families, children, and individuals, supporting emotional well-being and fostering positive family dynamics. The Therapist will utilize their expertise in patient care, case management, and research to develop tailored treatment plans that promote coping skills, healing, and resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions focused on emotional health, behavioral issues, and family dynamics.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, pediatric specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans.
  • Utilize research-based therapeutic techniques to address a variety of mental health issues affecting children and families.
  • Collect and analyze data related to patient progress to inform treatment adjustments and ensure effective outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and patient progress in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide case management services including assessment, resource linkage, and follow-up support for patients and their families.
  • Support patients with special needs by applying knowledge of special education strategies when appropriate.
  • Educate families on coping strategies, behavioral management, and available community resources.
  • Adhere to hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality, safety protocols, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in clinical or hospital settings.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pediatric care and hospital environments.
  • Experience with patient care coordination, case management, and data collection methods.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies related to mental health or pediatrics is preferred.
  • Background in special education or related fields is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Registration as a registered psychotherapist with CRPO is required.
