About Us

Rooks to Cooks is the GTA's leading culinary school for children. We offer a wide range of cooking programs for youth ages 4–18 — from our popular summer culinary camps to in-school workshops and community events. Our mission is to empower children to become more independent, self-sufficient, and confident through the joy of cooking and baking.

About the Role

We are seeking passionate and dynamic Chef Instructors to join our growing team This is a part-time/casual position ideal for culinary professionals or educators who love working with children and want flexible work opportunities. Our Chef Instructors deliver Rooks to Cooks' innovative curriculum in various settings — including in-home birthday parties, school workshops, after-school programs, weekend workshops, PA day camps, March Break camps, and community activations.

Chef Instructors are the heart of our programs. They bring our lessons to life, ensure classes run smoothly, and create a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment for all participants.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver hands-on cooking classes for groups of up to 30 students, following the Rooks to Cooks curriculum
  • Manage onsite staff to ensure smooth and efficient program delivery
  • Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for students and staff
  • Act as a brand ambassador and main point of contact, building positive relationships with parents, clients, and facility staff
  • Prepare, transport, and organize mise en place, equipment, and supplies for each class
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization throughout all programs
  • Respond professionally to any student incidents or challenges
  • Support class setup, teardown, and logistics as needed to ensure a seamless experience

Required Experience & certifications:

  • 2+ years of experience teaching in a professional setting
  • 2+ years of experience working with children and or minors in a professional setting
  • 1+ years of experience working in the culinary industry. Pastry experience is an asset

Required qualifications:

  • Standard First Aid & CPR certification
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Clear vulnerable sectors screening
