Located in the heart of the mineable oil sands of Alberta, the Hammerstone Quarry is one of the largest limestone quarries in Western Canada. The Quarry provides a year-round source of quality limestone aggregates that are essential to the growth, operational sustainability and environmental performance of the Alberta oil sands industry.

The Maintenance Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department by creating and managing work orders, maintaining effective communication with contractors, and completing all related documentation. This role helps minimize potential production delays by assisting supervisors in coordinating labor, parts, and equipment access according to established preventive maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance team in coordinating preventive maintenance for Mobile and Crushing Equipment.
- Generate and assign work orders/work requests from daily mobile equipment inspections
- Prepare work packages and ensure all required parts are included for designated jobs
- Actively use CMMS software (FIIX) to enter preventive and corrective work orders, and schedule/assign tasks
- Track equipment hours for preventive maintenance
- Assist the Maintenance Department with planning, scheduling, and coordinating onsite contractors
- Maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) within FIIX for mobile equipment
- Collaborate with the Optimization Lead and Inventory Department to optimize stock numbers
- Ensure equipment and maintenance data is properly collected for analysis
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Maintenance Administrator /Coordinator /planner
- At least 2 years of active experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including generating work orders, entering equipment hours, and creating BOMs
- General understanding of maintenance practices and methodologies
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel (Must)
- Self-motivated and able to work independently toward goals and objectives
Education / Credentials
- High School Diploma (required)
- Certificate or diploma in Maintenance Management (preferred)
- Certificate in CMMS or ERP system usage (preferred)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Non-GDL) with a 5-year clean driver's abstract
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience (opportunity for overtime based on the company needs)
