Position Summary

The successful candidate will provide an essential service to students who have a wide range of speech language needs requiring significant planning to ensure appropriate and differentiated service and support.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • determining the complexity and type of assessments needed for each student
  • selecting and administering appropriate assessment tools
  • analyzing and applying assessment results to support student learning
  • identifying students' current needs
  • developing and writing long- and short-term speech and language goals
  • planning and implementing appropriate interventions aligned with classroom curriculum
  • collaborating with the classroom team to support carryover of skills
  • communicating goals and student progress with families and stakeholders
  • adjusting interventions and supports based on ongoing student needs
  • applying evidence-based practices, tools, and assistive technologies
  • initiating and coordinating referrals for external assessments
  • advocating for students and initiating program or support changes
  • maintaining accurate student assessment, observation, and progress data
  • documenting goals, assessments, treatment summaries, and IPP information
  • analyzing and reporting assessment and treatment data for decision-making
  • maintaining communication records with families and outside agencies
  • ensuring compliance with reporting, insurance, and professional registration requirements
  • engaging in ongoing professional development, skill enhancement, school participation, and compliance with professional standards

Education/Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Registered with Alberta College of Speech Language Patholigists and Audiologists
  • minimum of three years related experience in classroom-based service delivery to children and youth
  • excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills

Rate of Pay

$ $65.21 per hour
