HR Generalist/Recruiter - Halifax

We are looking for a motivated and organized HR Generalist/Recruiter to join our team. Reporting to the HR Manager, this full-time, in-office role focuses on high-volume recruitment across Atlantic Canada while supporting daily HR operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience with immigration processes is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Responsibilities:


• Lead full-cycle recruitment across various roles and locations in Atlantic Canada, including posting, screening, interviewing, onboarding and offboarding.


• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and provide recruitment strategy support.


• Maintain job descriptions, requisitions, and applicant tracking documentation.


• Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.


• Experience managing a corporate Indeed account and LinkedIn recruiter. 

HR Generalist Responsibilities:


• Support employee relations matters, including assisting with performance discussions and documenting HR-related issues.


• Conduct or support workplace investigations related to policy breaches, misconduct, or other employee concerns.


• Assist with Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) claims, return-to-work programs, modified duties, and communication with case managers.


• Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation to managers and employees.


• Maintain accurate employee files, HR records, and compliance documentation.


• Contribute to HR reporting, policy development, and various HR projects.

Qualifications


• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.


• 5+ years of HR experience, including recruitment and generalist responsibilities; experience supporting multiple locations is an asset.


• Experience conducting or assisting with workplace investigations.


• Experience managing WCB claims, modified duties, or return-to-work plans is an asset.


• Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation; familiarity with Atlantic Canada preferred.


• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.


• Ability to work independently in an in-office environment and manage competing priorities.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.


• Experience with applicant tracking systems.


• Experience with immigration-related processes and documentation is an asset.


• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
