Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Recruitment, the Grant-Paid Recruitment Advisor is a role that advises on the full recruitment process from talent acquisition to onboarding for Grant-Paid employees while building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and job seekers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment activities to ensure timely and successful; searches, supporting compliance with Dalhousie's Employment Equity Policy and principles of fair consideration. Provide advice to search committees on best practice interview tools and candidate assessments.
  • Support employer branding initiatives by preparing recruitment communications and helping embed core competencies into selection and onboarding processes.
  • Assist with equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) efforts by providing resources, scheduling training, and supporting workshops that promote inclusive hiring practices.
  • Facilitate offer and onboarding processes by preparing documentation, liaising with Payroll Services and Labour & Employee Relations, and assisting with redeployment activities for Grant-Paid employees.
  • Maintain and optimize recruitment systems and practices including the applicant tracking system (PeopleAdmin). Troubleshoot issues, support data reporting and process improvements.
  • Provide general HR support and guidance to hiring managers and grant administrators on recruitment policies and procedures, escalating complex issues to senior consultants as needed.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, with approximately three to five years' related experience in human resource management activities with a focus on recruitment, preferably in a unionized environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Demonstrated strength in relationship building, client service, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and judgement.
  • Adaptive and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in a post-secondary or similarly large, complex environment.
