Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our healthcare administrative team. This role is essential in managing patient billing, processing payments, and ensuring accurate financial records within a busy dental office. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical and dental office procedures, strong administrative skills, and familiarity with electronic medical records systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth financial operations of our practice while working in a professional and supportive environment.
Duties
- Manage accounts receivable by processing patient payments and insurance reimbursements efficiently and accurately
- Maintain and update patient billing information within electronic medical records systems such as Curve/ Abeldent
- Reconcile accounts and prepare statements for overdue balances
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries via multi-line phone systems and written correspondence
- Assist with posting payments, adjustments, and insurance claims in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with front desk staff to ensure seamless billing processes during patient check-in and check-out
- Support administrative functions related to billing, including data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare privacy policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical or dental office administration, particularly in accounts receivable or billing roles
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Abel and Curve
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to billing and coding processes
- Strong office experience, including proficiency with multi-line phone systems and general administrative tasks
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience handling sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40,124.10-$62,090.95 per year
