About Us

Join Pinwheel Clinic as a Teacher Interventionist. Pinwheel Clinic is a team of Psychologists, physicians, therapists and educators. We are seeking a Reading/Writing Interventionist who is committed to making a difference in the lives of children who need specialized literacy support. Hours are part-time and flexible. Salary is open to negotiation based on level of education and experience. Qualifications

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Bachelor of Education (Teaching Degree)
  • Experience working with children in an educational or learning support role
  • Strong interest in literacy instruction and the Science of Reading
  • Commitment to evidence-based practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and other professionals
  • Criminal Record Check

Preferred (Assets):

  • Master's degree in special education or literacy (not required but highly valued)
  • Graduate Certificate in Special Education
  • Training or experience in educational assessment
  • Previous reading intervention or special education experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children one-to-one to develop their reading or writing skills
  • Participate in training on the Science of Reading and related intervention strategies
  • Use approved materials and evidence-based strategies for reading and writing intervention
  • Provide clear, timely feedback on student behaviour, engagement, and progress
  • Assist with preparation of assessment reports outlining progress and next steps
  • Maintain fidelity to intervention manuals and program expectations
  • Use assessments to track growth

Salary

· $45.00-$60.00 an hour depending on level of education and experience

· Plus 4 % vacation pay
