About the Firm

Our client is a reputable mid-sized public accounting firm based in Oakville, offering a full suite of assurance, tax, and advisory services. As a CPA pre-approved training office, the firm offers the opportunity to complete all required CPA experience hours in a structured and supportive environment.

The firm promotes a collaborative, fast-paced, and learning-focused environment, with a strong commitment to developing well-rounded professionals. While the position includes hybrid flexibility, new hires will spend their initial onboarding and training in-office.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy a mix of audit, tax, and compilation work. While assurance engagements will form a significant part of your responsibilities, the firm experiences seasonal variability. The ideal candidate is versatile, adaptable, and able to contribute across service lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assurance engagements including audits and reviews across a diverse client base
  • Prepare working papers and complete files using CaseWare (mandatory)
  • Support compilation engagements and prepare financial statements
  • Assist in preparing T2 corporate tax returns and other related filings
  • Contribute during peak tax season with T1/T4/T5 filings as needed
  • Communicate with clients regarding audit requests, documentation, and updates
  • Work collaboratively with partners, managers, and staff to ensure accurate and timely deliverables

Requirements

  • Recent public accounting experience is required
  • Strong proficiency with CaseWare
  • Ability to work across multiple service lines (audit, tax, and compilations)
  • Strong understanding of assurance procedures and file preparation
  • Ability to adapt to periods with limited audit work (approx. two months)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • CPA candidate or designated CPA is an asset but not mandatory
