Pay: CA$25.00–CA$28.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Hours: 6–12 hours per week at a minimum

About the Role

Cloud Gymnastics is seeking a Preschool & Early Years Lead Coach to oversee and elevate our Mini Clouds program (ages 1–5).

This is not just a coaching role. This position is for someone who thrives in early childhood environments and is excited to lead people, shape program quality, and build a positive team culture within our preschool offerings.

You will coach classes and act as a leader for our preschool coaching staff—supporting consistency, morale, training, and program delivery—while working closely with the Club Head Coach to ensure alignment across the gym.

Why This Role Matters

Preschool is often a child's first-ever experience with sport. How they feel in these classes shapes their confidence, relationship with movement, and willingness to try new things.

We are looking for someone who understands this responsibility and is passionate about creating safe, joyful, well-run preschool classes—not just for the children, but for the coaches leading them.

Your ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership

  • Oversee the quality and consistency of the Mini Clouds program
  • Ensure classes follow Cloud's preschool curriculum and values
  • Support the continued development and evolution of preschool programming
  • Collaborate with the Club Head Coach on program improvements and alignment

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Act as a lead for preschool coaching staff
  • Support coach morale, confidence, and professionalism
  • Ensure staff are meeting expectations around class delivery, safety, and communication
  • Assist in onboarding and training new preschool coaches
  • Lead or support preschool-focused in-services and training sessions

Coaching & Class Delivery

  • Coach preschool classes (ages 1–5) with warmth, structure, and enthusiasm
  • Manage group flow, transitions, and behaviour in a calm, confident manner
  • Create a fun, inclusive and engaging environment where children feel safe and successful

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly and positively with parents and caregivers
  • Work collaboratively with other lead coaches and the Club Head Coach
  • Help foster a supportive, team-oriented culture within the gym

Who We're Looking For

You are someone who:

  • Has experience working with young children in a leadership or management role

(preschool, daycare, ECE, early childhood programs, or youth sports)

  • Is confident leading and supporting other staff
  • Understands early childhood development and behaviour management
  • Is calm, patient, and structured—without losing the fun
  • Takes pride in setting standards and helping others grow
  • Enjoys collaborating rather than working in isolation

Gymnastics experience is an asset but not required. Early childhood leadership experience is more important.

Requirements

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Ability to obtain a clean criminal record & vulnerable sector check
  • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
