The Position: Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all engineering and maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, the grounds, mechanical equipment, guestrooms and hotel meeting space. Accountable for managing all aspects of preventative maintenance on a newly renovated product and for leading an engaged maintenance team to provide exceptional customer satisfaction.

ACTIVITIES:

The duties of the Maintenance Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervises and assists maintenance staff and contractors in the maintenance and repair of plumbing, hotel rooms, A/C and heating, ice machines, swimming pool, lighting, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, laundry, emergency systems, switch rooms, etc.
  • Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely, cost-effective basis and according to specifications.
  • Orders necessary materials and tools for repairing equipment and keeps within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintains an ongoing preventative maintenance program for the hotel.
  • Responsible for administering and documenting equipment preventative maintenance and guest room preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible for the safety of the department and the building.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
  • Conducts fire drills, training classes regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines.
  • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including Health and Safety, ESA, Human Rights etc.
  • Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected.
  • Sits and acts as a joint chairperson of the JHSC

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • 3+ years progressive maintenance experience in a supervisory capacity
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Effective communication and people management skills
  • Quick thinking and able to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs
  • Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
  • Guest oriented and service minded with an attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate, must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, & holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
