Job Summary:

The primary function of the Shift Supervisor/Dispatcher is to oversee the daily operations of the company's drivers and maintain a positive work environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 year experience dispatching trucks long haul

  2. Experienced in using Load link to find loads

  3. Experienced in clearing borders using Crimson logic /ACE e-Manifest

  4. Update customers with driver's location and status update

  5. Experienced in Truckmate software.

  6. Strong customer service skills

  7. Effective communication skills

  8. Plan and coordinate operational logistics

  9. Knowledge of pricing and quoting when booking loads

  10. Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations

  11. Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have

  12. Other duties as requested.

Dispatcher Specific Skills

  1. Record mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses

  2. Operate computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment

  3. Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders

  4. Dispatch personnel as required by emergency situations

  5. Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment

  6. Keep track of shipments

  7. Follow-up on issues with work orders

  8. Knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices

  9. Maintain vehicle operator work records

Additional Skills

  1. Maintain work records and logs

  2. Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries

  3. Perform general office duties

  4. Monitor personnel workloads and locations

  5. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Job Duties:

  1. Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations

  2. Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have

  3. Monitor road conditions, construction zones, and accidents in order to revise routes as needed

  4. Update customers on the status of their deliveries including any delays that occur

  5. Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately
