Project Finance Coordinator

The Project Finance Coordinator will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team, working cross-functionally to support accounting processes and internal project teams. Their key tasks include coordinating with project teams and accounting staff to ensure an efficient accounts payable process, maintaining knowledge bases and other team resources, and carrying out project financial administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing and Accounts Payable Support
- Ensure an efficient purchasing workflow by coordinating with project teams to facilitate timely transaction processing and approvals in accordance with set processes.
- Assist and train team members on issues related to purchasing processes.
- Participate in month end accounting processes related to purchasing transactions.
Project Finance Administration
- Maintain knowledge bases on topics including Canadian project funding opportunities, active projects and accounts, and other finance and accounting resources.
- Assist with project set-up, including bank account administration, budget processing and upload, and project expense processing support.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and familiarity with financial reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Purchasing and Accounts Payable processes, an understanding of workflow management within an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and general knowledge of project performance reporting.
- Software: Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Experience using Sage Intacct is an advantage.
