About us

Mazi Law Professional Corporation (formerly Rooz Law) is a boutique Personal Injury law firm located in the heart of North York. We handle Accident Benefits, motor vehicle accident tort claims, as well as slip & fall or trip & fall claims. The firm is seeking an associate lawyer to join our growing practice. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced yet rewarding environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in personal injury;
  • Valid Lawyer (L1) Licence in good standing from the Law Society of Ontario;
  • Strong knowledge of Accident Benefits and Tort claims, including the SABS and the Rules of Civil Procedure;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, legal writing, legal research, and advocacy skills; and
  • Experience in negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive handling of personal injury matters from beginning to resolution;
  • Preparing various forms, case conference summaries, and pleadings for the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT);
  • Preparing pleadings, motions records, mediation memos, pre-trial memos, etc. ;
  • Conducting case conferences, examinations for discovery, motions, hearings, mediations, and more;
  • Effectively tracking denials, deadlines and timelines;
  • Corresponding with clients, opposing counsels, and third-parties; and
  • Other duties as may be assigned
