Breakfast Attendant - 5 AM to 1:30 PM. At Comfort Inn & Suites Terrace, BC – Terrace, BC

The position is primarily responsible for preparing and replenishing the daily breakfast bar and cleaning up after breakfast hours end. Through offering exceptional service, ensuring guests of the hotel are comfortable and satisfied with their experience. The breakfast attendant must maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment for our guest. Shifts starts at 5 am.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide personalized service to all guests.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining the breakfast buffet as required by brand standards
  • Follow menu requirements as provided by the brand
  • Preparing foods such as fresh fruit, breads, pastries, batters and coffee
  • Stocking coffee, juice and milk
  • Setting up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups and other paper products
  • Setting out/arranging cold food, such as pastries, cereals, etc.
  • Preparing and setting up hot food items: scrambled eggs, bacon, eggs, sausages, etc.
  • Restocking items consistently throughout the breakfast hours and for the next day
  • Maintain the breakfast area in a clean condition during the hours of operation
  • Clearing and sanitizing tables and chairs as they are vacated
  • Cleaning buffet counter and emptying trash as needed
  • Washing serving equipment and returning to storage
  • Returning reusable food supplies to storage
  • Check the cleaning frequency chart and do the required cleaning each day.
  • Function as a pleasant, hospitable host by greeting guests and offering assistance.
  • Be sure that established service procedures are followed at all times. Thank the guest, and ask him/her to come back again.
  • Advise the General Manager of any complaints so that they can be rectified immediately.
  • Responsible for checking inventory levels of all food, beverages and supply items on the buffet and replenish them as needed for each day.
  • Assist General Manager with ordering or purchasing food supplies.
  • General cleaning of hotel public areas
  • Pay: $17 + depending on experience and performance. Bonus pay available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • It is fundamental that breakfast attendants shows up on scheduled shifts and on time.
  • High school graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year of related experience.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
  • Superior guest services skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This can be a VERY fast paced work environment
  • Listening and mental attentiveness in fulfilling guests requirements.
  • Sets-up and cleans up Breakfast buffet on a daily basis.
  • Infrequent handling of queries from guests, and property staff.
  • Works morning shift, with minimum supervision.
  • Maintains good personal appearance at all times; wear proper uniform and name tag as prescribed by hotel.
