Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students succeed academically while fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves providing personalized instruction and support to students of various ages and backgrounds, ensuring they grasp key concepts in their studies. A background in tutoring or education is highly desirable, along with proficiency in multiple languages such as Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, or French.

Duties

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop customized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure comprehension.
  • Provide support in various subjects, includingmathematics and other science subjects.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their academic goals while building their confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes learning.

Experience

  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred, particularly with children.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages such as Mandarin.
  • Ability to write clear and concise lesson plans and educational materials.
  • Familiarity with classroom dynamics and educational best practices.
  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in students' lives.
  • Familiar with OSSD curriculum
