Role Overview:
We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated person to join our school age programming. Hours will take place from 2:00- 5:00/5:30 pm (afterschool) on days scheduled.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Registered Early Childcare Workers and other team members in planning, developing, and implementing, stimulating and developmentally appropriate programming and activities for children ages 6-12.
- Maintain positive communication with parents as needed.
- Help Registered ECE's in integrating children with special needs into the program by supporting inclusive practices.
- Support children's physical needs, as well as ensuring children's dietary and medical requirements are followed.
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment by cleaning and disinfecting toys, equipment and activity areas and performing housekeeping duties as required (e.g. laundry).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by RECEs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Up to date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training upon selection if required).
- Experience with children 0-12 is an asset.
- Some knowledge of child development.
- Planning and time management skills to assist in completion of program activities, routines, and tasks.
- Adequate energy levels and ability to meet physical demands of the job.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and with other team members.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
