Canada's largest petroleum refiner, a major producer of crude oil and natural gas, a key petrochemical producer and a leading fuels marketer from coast to coast is looking to hire a Cost Estimator for a 3 months project. Please find the details below:

Pay Rate: $45/hr.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Assist Estimating Group Supervisor with analysis and planning for Cost and Schedule Development (C&SD) Estimate / Schedule staffing requirements


• Relief for Estimating Supervisor due to project travel and personal time


• Provide input for personnel performance appraisal for cost and schedule practitioners as requested


• Assist Area Supervisors with updates of weekly Project Services Status Report and monthly Project Status Summary Reports (Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) )

  • Cost & Schedule Area Advisors/Supervisors

  • Project Management Area Advisors (Planning & Controls)

  • Project Planning & Controls (Business) Managers and Project Controls Leads assigned to Projects


• Ensure project-specific indoctrination and general training for Quality personnel is conducted and provide quality-related training for Project Team (PT) as required


• External Coordination: Counterparts in other project management organizations

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


• Professional position with competent cost & schedule estimate development experience


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required


• Skills to negotiate and broker successful solutions between Internal Coordination parties above


• Strong Influencing, Consulting, Mentoring, Analytical, and Computing skills


• Adaptability to changing priorities


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills


• Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling and reporting
