Job Description
Reporting to the Leader, National Casualty and Bodily Injury Claims, you have a track record of progressively challenging claims handling. You will be accountable for the investigation, negotiation and settlement of Intermediate Third Party Bodily Injury claims. You are motivated by a challenge and strive to continually develop yourself and others. You actively support change and seek to improve. You have effectively managed a portfolio of Automobile Bodily Injury, Accident Benefit Claims, or Automobile PD Claims of increasing complexity. You continually support the Team environment and raise your hand to assist others. You have a desire to be part of a diverse, highly engaged and high-performance team.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Reporting to the Team Leader, Casualty, you are accountable for managing a portfolio of Intermediate Bodily Injury Claims.
  • Engage all stakeholders in the effective management of a claim including underwriting and senior leadership
  • Confirming policy coverages, investigating claims to determine liability and quantum. Maintaining detailed file records.
  • Attending/participating in mediations, pre-trials and settlement initiatives.
  • Settle claims directly with Plaintiff's Counsel.
  • Direct and Instruct Defence Counsel.
  • Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions, whether with customer, co-workers or vendors
  • Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Strive to continually push the boundaries of your adjusting experience and personal learnings
  • Team player adaptable to changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree, a college diploma or the CIP designation
  • Minimum 3 years of claims handling experience
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
  • Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Team player adaptable to a changing environment
  • You're dependable with strong interpersonal skills
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You're focused on building engagement and culture
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong computer skills
  • Bilingualism in both English and French or other languages is an asset
  • Licensed in multiple provinces is an asset

Salary range: $50,200 - $92,500
