About the Role:

The
VP of Production
is a key strategic leader responsible for managing the full-production process across a diverse portfolio of men's and women's brands. The ideal candidate is a process-driven, solutions-oriented leader with a strong personality, deep manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years
    of progressive experience in apparel production, including management of multiple brands and categories (knits, wovens, denim, outerwear, men's and women's).
  • Prior experience working with
    big-box retailers
    such as Costco is
    required
    .
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to make decisive calls and navigate complex negotiations.
  • Highly adaptable and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Deep understanding of the global manufacturing process, garment construction, and technical production.
  • Process- and detail-oriented with a strong ability to implement systems and enforce accountability.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, SAP, CAD, and Mac OS.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Innovation

  • Partner strategically with overseas production teams and global vendors to maximize efficiency and ensure cost-effective, scalable solutions across brands and categories.
  • Perform competitive and market research to evaluate trends in manufacturing, fabrics, and garment construction; communicate innovations to Design and Merchandising teams.
  • Oversee and maintain an archive of materials, hardware, and sourcing references for ongoing use and inspiration.

Operations & Execution

  • Develop and maintain the approved vendor matrix, including evaluation of capacity, compliance, cost, and quality metrics.
  • Lead the purchase order lifecycle—initiation, issuance, tracking, and fulfillment.
  • Ensure end-to-end visibility and tracking of production from proto samples to bulk delivery; address and resolve chargebacks, compliance issues, and customs classification with Imports.
  • Manage and enforce the development calendar, ensuring timely delivery and execution aligned with brand expectations.
  • Uphold rigorous quality standards, lead quality assurance initiatives and corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate on complex product development and construction issues—especially with technically demanding garments such as denim, outerwear, and knitwear—ensuring aesthetics and margins are met.
  • Drive production capacity planning and allocation across sourcing offices, countries, and vendors; develop accurate costing models and manage material commitments in partnership with Sales and Planning.
  • Lead and monitor global shipment logistics, including departure/arrival tracking and on-time delivery reporting.
  • Own the integrity of all production reports, KPIs, and scorecards.

Customer & Vendor Relationships

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Design, Merchandising, Planning, and Logistics) and external stakeholders (vendors, factories, agents) to ensure smooth production flow and capacity alignment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure compliance with routing guides, delivery windows, and packaging standards.
  • Represent the brand at international trade shows and factory visits as needed.
  • Oversee and execute special projects

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing production team; build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement staffing strategies and succession planning across categories and brand teams.
  • Foster cross-functional alignment and manage upwards to communicate risks, opportunities, and team capacity.
