What You Will Get To Do
Reporting to, and under the direction of, the Manager of 55+ Recreation, the temporary 55+ Outreach Coordinator is a grant funded position that is responsible for the coordination and development of 55+ outreach programs, services, and events, the coordination of outreach projects and administrative duties. The duties include, but are not limited to:
- virtual and in-person program and event planning, including: research, development, promotion, organization, coordination, facilitation, implementation and evaluation;
- on-going recruitment, supervision and monitoring of contractors and volunteers;
- updating ActiveNet to include new program information for enrolment and monitoring registration;
- developing and sustaining community partnerships;
- the generation of promotional information; and,
- other duties as may be assigned.
What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- a post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation and/or Gerontology, or a related field;
- a minimum of one year (1) year experience with the coordination and development of 55+ programs and services and special events;
- certification in CPR-C and Emergency First Aid, with AED;
- proficiency in a Windows based environment, with a demonstrated intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Word, Excel and Outlook);
- an understanding of Recreation Registration applications (preferably ActiveNet);
- the ability to communicate orally, and in written form, in a clear and concise manner;
- strong interpersonal and public relations skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with seniors, other employees and the general public;
- strong leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills;
- excellent research, numerical and analytical skills;
- the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision;
- the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and diplomacy; and,
- a valid police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector.
Salary Range/Hourly rate:
$1.00 - $30.00
