We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an accomplished Mobility Pursuits & Commercial Enablement Director to drive profitable growth and strategic sales across our Mobility global business area. In this pivotal role, you will lead the BA Sales team, ensuring the delivery of world-class proposals and pursuit strategies that secure inspiring, high-value opportunities aligned with our growth ambitions. The successful candidate will champion governance, quality, and commercial excellence to protect and advance the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and client-centricity throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, shaping the future of our sales operations while building industry-leading capabilities in pursuit management and commercial enablement. You will play a critical role in mentoring teams, upskilling resources, and embedding best practices that drive both financial and non-financial performance across the organization.
This role sits within our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
In this role, you will own the business area pipeline, identifying and managing strategic pursuits to meet organic growth targets. You will coordinate planning between Accounts and Solutions, ensuring targeted opportunities are proactively co-created and pursued. By driving the consistent adoption of harmonized pursuit processes and organizing Pursuit Committees, you will function as a trusted advisor and a Pursuit Leader for complex, multi-country opportunities.
You will oversee the Mobility Pursuits and Commercial Enablement Team, prioritizing support for key clients and leveraging global shared resources to deliver industry-leading capabilities. Accountability for key growth metrics—including Net Order Intake, As Sold Margin, Win/Capture rates, and Cost of Sales—will be central, as will your responsibility for conducting win/loss debriefs and using lessons learned to inform future strategies.
Commercial excellence will be a core focus, promoting the use of innovative concepts, client-centric bid and risk reviews, and the harmonization of processes worldwide. You'll identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency across all pursuit activities.
People development is integral to this role. You will coach and mentor in-country Pursuit Leaders, develop and implement training initiatives, share best practices in sustainability and technology, and build high-performing Commercial Enablement teams. Through close collaboration with Sales Directors, Market Sector Leaders, Account Leaders, and global resources, you will strengthen the pursuit leader community and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
- APMP Practitioner certification preferred
- Proven track record of leading sales, pursuits, and commercial enablement teams for multi-million-dollar pursuits and accounts
- Significant leadership capability, able to inspire multi-disciplinary and multi-country teams
- Demonstrated client focus throughout Market to Opportunity and Pursuit to Win phases
- Strong ambition and drive to meet business growth targets
- Ability to design, implement, and optimize pursuit processes with agility
- Deep understanding of commercial strategies, including margin, profitability, and international coordination
- Experience collaborating with finance and legal teams (e.g., currency exchange, risk review)
- Ability to lead, engage, and motivate teams to achieve shared goals
- Experience in continuous improvement, training, and development of pursuit and commercial enablement personnel
