The Discovery and Geosciences (D&G) team delivers value for Anglo American through the safe and effective discovery of new mineral endowment, the delivery of step-change operational geosciences in our mines, and the quantification and communication of our Mineral Resources and endowment.

Job Description
We are seeking a
Discovery Geologist
to support field-based exploration activities and apply foundational geoscientific skills to contribute to the discovery of superior value ore deposits in North America. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to collect, analyse and interpret geological data, ensuring safe and effective operations. This role will be based in our Vancouver office, with travel for fieldwork required across North America.

The base salary range for this role is $80k - $100k, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of a portfolio of projects.

• Support the execution of project activities, including but not limited to:

• Conducting geological mapping and applying geochemical and geophysical techniques.

• Collecting and integrating geoscientific data.
• Utilizing geoscience software and applications to support data interpretation and modeling.
• Contributing to the generation reports, maps, cross-sections and other technical materials.
• Ensuring the application of appropriate and innovative discovery tools and techniques.

Qualifications

• BSc (or equivalent) in Geosciences.
• Hold or be able to qualify for Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or Geoscientist-in-Training (G.I.T.) status with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
• Valid driver's license.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Awareness of fundamental exploration concepts, methods, and techniques, including geological mapping, sampling, geophysical and geochemical surveys relevant to mineral exploration projects.
