Middleware Administrator – IBM MQ & Messaging Systems (Intermediate)


Hybrid – Montreal, QC

About the Role

We are seeking a Middleware Administrator to support enterprise messaging platforms across North and South America. You will manage IBM MQ/RabbitMQ environments, support application teams, and contribute to middleware design, installation, troubleshooting, and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support
    IBM MQ
    and/or
    RabbitMQ
  • Provide
    L2/L3 support
    for developers and application teams
  • Troubleshoot middleware issues and recommend long-term fixes
  • Document configurations and recurring issues
  • Participate or lead middleware upgrade/automation projects
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to design scalable solutions
  • Evaluate new tools/technologies to strengthen platform capabilities

Required Skills

  • 2–5 years of hands-on IBM MQ experience (design, install, upgrades, migration)
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Middleware installation, configuration, and upgrade experience

Nice to Have

  • Python scripting
  • Microservices knowledge
  • Experience with Puppet/Chef
  • Cloud exposure (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Jenkins, Docker, Elasticsearch

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
