Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a candidate to assist our Dealer Standards & Sales Operations team. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Dealer Standards and Business Management.
The selected candidate will guide Dealer Governance and Standards in the Toyota and Lexus Dealer Network while executing the detailed analysis, policy interpretation, and coordination required to support consistent and timely decision-making. The role requires regular engagement with internal associates, Dealership owners, Legal, industry professionals, internal management to ensure clarity and completeness of information for dealer network decisions. It also contributes to the preparation and coordination of governance-related documentation, in alignment with TCI's Legal Department – such as Letters of Commitment, dealer agreements, ancillary agreements, franchise agreements and renewals, and disclosure documents – ensuring accuracy and consistency. The role also identifies governance risks and opportunities and shares insights with the Manager of Dealer Standards & Representation for decision making.

What You'll be Doing:
- Interact with Dealer Owners & Dealer Advisors on governance and legal matters, providing clear interpretation of TCI policies
- Identify governance risks and elevate insights to the Manager, Dealer Standards & Representation as needed
- Support governance process improvements by clarifying requirements and helping streamline workflows
- Review and interpret dealer requests and legal documents, identifying business, legal, and precedent implications and recommending new TCI procedures/policies
- Research organizational precedents, draft and translate governance requirements into well-structured TCI legal documents and dealer letters
- Analyze and assemble all Dealer Requests for Change, ensuring completeness and consistency in partnership with regional managers when documentation is required
- Review and coordinate new candidate background validations for Dealer Principal/General Manager candidates
- Prepare Letters of Commitment and customizes drafts that accurately reflect approval conditions and protect TCI interests
- Prepare and presents A3s/A4s for Dealer corporate status changes, relocation, renovations for Executive approval
- Prepare new Toyota or Lexus Dealer Agreements and supporting Amending Agreements, including Master Information Sharing Agreements and NADAP Agreements, when required
- Monitor information changes relevant to Franchise Disclosure Documents (Toyota and Lexus), ensuring documents are maintained, updated, and issued to legal compliance standards
- Review and process additions or changes to Toyota/Lexus Dealer Standards, ensuring committee review is completed before they are finalized
- Support governance-related special projects and other duties as required
What You'll Bring:
- University degree, preferably in the Legal Field (Paralegal or Law Clerk) or related discipline
- 5+ years of related experience supporting governance, legal, or compliance-related work
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French is an asset), with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong understanding of business organization, corporate share structure, financials, dealer operations and automotive industry
- Ability to lead and collaborate across cross-functional groups with clarity and influence
- Knowledge of Franchisor and Franchisee business relationship
- Self-starter with the ability to exercise sound judgment and operate with limited supervision
- Advanced analytical, and decision-making abilities, including the capacity to interpret complex information and provide clear recommendations
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint and Teams
- Knowledge of SOX audit requirements and the importance of maintaining compliance across governance documentation
- Experience with SAP and InfoStream is an asset
