North West River Youth Engagement Initiative

The North West River Youth Engagement Initiative (NWR YEI) is seeking a motivated, reliable, and community-minded Youth Program Coordinator to support youth programming through a 19-week term beginning at the end of March.

Position Overview

The Youth Program Coordinator will supervise youth programming during evening hours, assist with special events, and connect with local organizations to support and enhance program delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

-Supervise and support youth night programming three times per week from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

-Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for youth participants

-Assist with planning and supervising additional events, including some weekends

-Connect with local organizations for bookings, services, and facility rentals

-Build relationships and support partnerships with community organizations

-Communicate and collaborate with program leadership and community partners

-Support overall program operations as required

Position Details

-Term Length: 19 weeks

-Start Date: End of March

-Schedule:Three evenings per week (6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)Availability required for some weekends and special events

-Wage: $16.00 per hour

Eligibility Requirements - Applicants must:

-Be 30 years of age or younger

-Be currently not employed at time of hire

-Be not enrolled in training or education at the time of hire

Qualifications & Skills

-Experience working with youth or in a community-based setting (preferred)

-Good communication and interpersonal skills

-Reliable, organized, and able to work independently

-Comfortable working evening and weekend hours

-Knowledge of the local community is an asset
