Senior Accountant

Rise Air is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Saskatoon, SK.

Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a key part in maintaining strong financial controls, delivering accurate reporting, and providing timely financial insights that support decision-making across the organization.

What You Will Do:

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (ASPE) and Canadian tax regulations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including internal and external financial reporting.
• Work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and Controller to design, enhance, implement and monitor internal controls, workflows, and accounting systems as needed.
• Support the development and implementation of the Accounting Department's goals, policies, procedures, methods, projects and internal controls.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals and variance analysis.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Assist with Treasury management and cash flow forecasting.
• Reconcile and analyze various income statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to support decision making.
  Other general accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or actively pursuing; CPA strongly preferred.
• Five years of experience in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Multi-entity or aviation experience is an asset.

To succeed in this role, you are bringing:

• Proficiency in accounting and financial planning systems; experience in implementation of new systems or modules is an asset. Experience in Sage 300 is an asset.
• Superior skills in Microsoft Excel, and strong knowledge and understanding of other Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and professional standards
• Ability to exercise sound professional judgment when handling sensitive, confidential, or high-risk financial information.
